🦐 Bold, garlicky Creole butter sauce coats juicy unpeeled shrimp – messy, finger-licking NOLA seafood explosion in 30 minutes!
🍞 High-protein feast perfect for sopping with crusty French bread, crowd-pleasing party starter full of smoky spice!

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

– 1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) butter

– 1/4 cup olive oil

– 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

– 6 cloves garlic, minced

– 2 bay leaves

– 1 tablespoon Creole seasoning

– 1 teaspoon oregano

– 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika

– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

– 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

– 3 green onions, sliced

– 2 tablespoons lemon juice

– 1 lemon, sliced

– 2 pounds medium to large fresh shrimp, unpeeled

Instructions

1-First Step: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. While it heats, slice the lemon, mince the garlic, and slice the green onions. Set a 9×13-inch baking dish nearby so you can move quickly.

2-Second Step: In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients except the shrimp. That means butter, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, bay leaves, Creole seasoning, oregano, paprika, black pepper, cayenne pepper, green onions, lemon juice, and the sliced lemon. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

3-Third Step: Turn off the heat and remove the saucepan. Taste the mixture and adjust carefully, adding a little salt only if needed. This matters because this bbq cajun shrimp dish tends to be fairly salty, especially if your Worcestershire and Creole seasoning are both strong.

4-Fourth Step: Place the shrimp in the 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour the butter mixture over the shrimp so they’re coated and surrounded by sauce. For extra flavor, keep the shrimp unpeeled since cooking in their shells helps them stay tender and moist.

5-Final Step: Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring once during baking. You’ll know they’re done when the shrimp are pink and cooked through. Serve hot with crusty French bread to mop up the sauce.
