2 lbs collard greens, cut

1 large onion

1 large bell pepper (yellow, red, or green)

1 lb smoked bacon, chopped

1 1/2 cups water

1 tablespoon seasoning salt

2 teaspoons seasoning salt for additional seasoning, if desired

1 1/2 teaspoons coarse black pepper

Instructions

1-Wash and slice the cabbage and collard greens.

2-Cook the chopped bacon in a large pot until it browns.

3-Add onions and bell peppers and cook until softened.

4-Fold in the greens and cabbage, then add water, seasoning salt, and black pepper.

5-Stir well and simmer on medium heat for 45 minutes.
