– 4 extra-large eggs at room temperature for the lemon layer

– 1β…” cups white sugar for the lemon layer

– β…” cup all-purpose flour for the lemon layer

– β…” cup lemon juice extracted from 2 to 3 large lemons for the lemon layer

Instructions

1-First, preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and grease an 8Γ—8 inch baking pan to get everything set for baking. This step helps the bars come out cleanly and ensures even cooking.

2-Once your oven is ready, mix the shortbread crust ingredients to form a solid base.

3-In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, and flour to create the crust mixture as outlined in our ingredients list. Press it firmly into the base of the pan for a sturdy layer. Bake the crust for 15 minutes or until it’s lightly golden, then let it cool a bit before adding the next parts.

4-Beat the cream cheese until smooth, then mix in sugar, eggs, and lemon juice to make the filling. Pour it over the cooled crust and bake again for 25-30 minutes.

5-Prepare the shortbread crust by mixing and baking as described.

6-Make the cream cheese layer by blending the ingredients smoothly.

7-Add the lemon layer on top and bake until set.

8-Cool and chill the bars for the best texture.
