– 3 medium to large very ripe bananas (about 1 3/4 cups mashed)

– 1 teaspoon baking soda
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (divided; mini chips or chunks can also be used)
Instructions
1-Preheat the oven to 350ΛF and prepare a standard loaf pan by buttering and flouring it. The pan should measure about 9.25 inches by 5.25 inches by 2.75 inches.
2-In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth, then add the lightly beaten eggs.
3-Mash the bananas to a chunky applesauce consistency and mix them into the bowl along with the vanilla extract.
4-In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
5-Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and blend until just incorporated, being careful not to overmix.
6-Fold in 3/4 cup of the chocolate chips into the batter.
7-Pour the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of chocolate chips on top.
8-Bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it rest for 10 minutes before moving to a wire rack to cool.
