๐Ÿ Experience restaurant-quality creamy pasta at home with this simple yet luxurious garlic sauce that coats every perfect strand of pasta
๐Ÿง„ Transform basic ingredients into an extraordinary meal that’s ready in just 15 minutes – perfect for busy weeknights or when you crave comfort food

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 2-3 servings

Ingredients

– 8 ounces (about 227 grams) of uncooked pasta, preferably linguine but any shape works

– 1 tablespoon of butter

– 1 teaspoon of flour

– 2 to 3 cloves of minced garlic

– 1/4 cup (60 ml) of chicken broth (or vegetable broth for a vegetarian option)

– 1 cup (240 ml) of heavy or whipping cream

– 1/3 cup (approximately 30 grams) of freshly grated Parmesan cheese

– Salt and pepper to taste

– Chopped fresh parsley for garnishing, as desired

– Extra Parmesan cheese for garnishing, if desired

Instructions

1-Getting started with this creamy garlic pasta is simple and fun. Begin by boiling salted water and cooking 8 ounces of pasta al dente as per the package instructions. While that’s happening, melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat to build your sauce.

2-Next, stir in 1 teaspoon of flour and cook it for about 2 minutes, stirring often to make a smooth roux. Add 2 to 3 cloves of minced garlic and 1/4 cup of chicken or vegetable broth, letting it simmer for a minute. Then, whisk in 1 cup of heavy cream and cook until it thickens, usually a few minutes.

3-Stir in 1/3 cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste. Drain the pasta and toss it with the sauce, adding some reserved pasta water if you need to adjust the consistency. Serve right away, topped with chopped fresh parsley and extra Parmesan for a nice finish.

4-Gather ingredients and mince the garlic for even flavor.

5-Cook pasta in boiling salted water until al dente, reserving some water.

6-Melt butter and cook the roux with flour in a skillet.

7-Add garlic and broth, then simmer before whisking in cream.

8-Mix in cheese, season, and combine with pasta.

9-Garnish and serve immediately.

Notes

๐Ÿงˆ Use heavy cream rather than lower-fat substitutes to prevent the sauce from curdling and ensure the richest texture
๐Ÿง„ Freshly minced garlic and freshly grated Parmesan cheese make a significant difference in flavor compared to pre-minced or pre-shredded varieties
๐Ÿ’ง Always reserve some pasta cooking water – the starchy water helps create the perfect sauce consistency and helps the sauce cling to the pasta better
