Ingredients
1 pound loaf of bread (such as Italian or French style)
1/2 cup softened unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley
1/8 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Extra fresh parsley and chives for garnishing
1/2 cup softened unsalted butter
1 pound Italian or French loaf
1/4 cup grated parmesan or 1/2 cup mozzarella
Instructions
1-Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
2-Slice the bread: Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place the cut sides up on the baking sheet.
3-Make the garlic butter: In a medium bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt until well combined. Spread the mixture evenly over the bread halves.
4-Bake the bread: Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden brown.
5-Add cheese (optional): If using cheese, sprinkle it on the bread during the last 2 minutes of baking to avoid over-crisping.
6-Finish and serve: Allow the bread to cool slightly, then slice it into 1-inch pieces and serve.
