2 tablespoons olive oil plus more for coating keeps the dough moist and elastic

3/4 cup (175ml) warm water activates the yeast and binds everything together

Instructions

1-First, set up your workspace with all your ingredients measured out. Start by mixing 1 cup of flour with the yeast, sugar, and salt in a large bowl add garlic powder and basil if you want that extra flavor. This step ensures everything blends well before adding liquids.

2-Stir in the olive oil and warm water into the flour mixture until it forms a rough dough. Gradually mix in another cup of flour, and add more as needed until the dough is cohesive and not too sticky. Once done, oil a bowl, place the dough inside, and roll it around to coat; cover it and let it rise for 30 minutes in a warm spot.

3-After rising, gently deflate and knead the dough briefly on a floured surface. Shape it into a 12-inch circle, transfer to a lined pan, form the crust edges, brush with olive oil, and poke holes with a fork to stop any bubbling. Now, add your toppings and bake at 425ยฐF for 13-15 minutes until golden.
