๐Ÿ”ฅ This Rustic Campfire Beef and Potato Casserole is a hearty, comforting dish perfect for cozy outdoor meals or family dinners.
๐Ÿฅ” Combining tender ground beef, layers of sliced potatoes, and melted cheddar cheese makes every bite satisfying and flavorful.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 53 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

– 1 pound lean ground beef

– 4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and sliced

– 8 ounces cheddar cheese, grated

– 1 small yellow onion, diced

– 1 (10 ounces) can cream of chicken soup

– 1 (10 ounces) can cream of potato soup

– 1/4 cup milk

– 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

– 1 teaspoon Creole seasoning

– 1/3 cup crispy fried onions

– Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1-Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF and prepare a cast iron skillet by spreading the 1 pound of lean ground beef evenly across it. Season with salt and pepper to taste for a solid base.

2-Layer the diced small yellow onion over the beef, then add the sliced 4 medium russet potatoes on top for that classic hearty feel.

3-Sprinkle 8 ounces of grated cheddar cheese generously over the potatoes to create a gooey, comforting layer.

4-In a separate bowl, whisk together the 1 (10 ounces) can of cream of chicken soup, 1 (10 ounces) can of cream of potato soup, 1/4 cup milk, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, and 1 teaspoon Creole seasoning until smooth and well combined.

5-Pour this mixture evenly over the cheese and potatoes in the skillet, then cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1.5 hours.

6-After baking, remove the foil and add 1/3 cup of crispy fried onions on top. Broil for 2-3 minutes until the topping turns golden brown, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.

7-Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving to allow flavors to settle. This step ensures the dish is easy to portion and enjoy right away.
