๐Ÿฆž This rich and creamy seafood bisque combines the finest crawfish, shrimp, and crab in a velvety smooth base that delivers restaurant-quality flavor in every spoonful
๐Ÿค Perfect for special occasions or elegant dinner parties, this easy-to-make soup brings the taste of coastal cuisine to your home kitchen with simple, straightforward steps

  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

– 2 cups (4 sticks) salted butter

– 6 green onions, finely chopped (including white and green parts)

– 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

– 1 pound crawfish meat

– 1 1/2 pounds raw shrimp, peeled, deveined, and roughly chopped

– 1/2 pound crab meat

– 4 cups heavy cream

– 4 cups half and half

– 1 (14.75-ounce) can creamed corn

– 1 1/2 teaspoons Creole seasoning

– 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning

– 1 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to taste

– 2 teaspoons freshly cracked black pepper

– 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

– 1/4 cup minced fresh chives for garnish (optional)

– Crusty bread for serving (optional)

Instructions

1-Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the green onions and cook, stirring, until they become tender, about 3 minutes. Stir in the flour until fully incorporated.

2-Add the crawfish meat, chopped shrimp, crab meat, heavy cream, half and half, creamed corn, Creole seasoning, Old Bay seasoning, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer while stirring over medium-high heat.

3-Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue cooking, stirring frequently, until the bisque thickens and the flavors meld, approximately 40 minutes.

4-Serve the bisque in bowls, garnished with fresh chives if desired, and accompanied by crusty bread.

Notes

๐Ÿฆ€ Use full-fat dairy products for the creamiest texture – skim milk will result in a watery bisque that lacks the luxurious consistency
๐ŸŒŠ Smaller shrimp work better in this bisque as they provide a more delicate texture and blend seamlessly with the other seafood
๐Ÿ”ฅ Adjust the seasonings gradually and taste as you go – the flavors intensify as the bisque simmers, so start with less and add more if needed
